Hi, I'm Dr. Marc Kanchuk

Education and Publications

The house call service remedies this by allowing for longer appointment times in the comfort of your home environment. I am able to provide focused and tailored care for each furry family member and you have direct access to your pets' doctor.

Your dog's and cat's comfort is a top priority.  Because of this I can often perform the appointment just about anywhere. Dog bed, cat tree, couch, kitchen counter, family room, backyard porch, back lawn, etc.  Often, it's a family event with the cat supervising everything from the kitchen counter as the house dogs receive their exams and vaccines in the family room surrounded by family members.

Unfortunately, I am usually not available to treat a medical emergency as I do not have the diagnostic tools and equipment needed (x-ray, ultrasound, bloodwork, oxygen, iv fluids, etc.).

Over 20 Years of Veterinary Experience

I graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. I have lived and worked in California, Florida and Washington.  My wife is a veterinary internal medicine specialist at Summit Veterinary Referral Center and we keep busy raising two children and two dogs.

As stated on the front page, I am like that old-fashioned house call human doctor. It is just me, my stethoscope and my doctor bag.  I've worked in the vet field for over 20 years (as a vet tech, general practitioner, ER doctor, and have additional training in internal medicine, surgery, and ultrasound) which has given me a broad knowledge base to draw from as I work with your pet.  As with most things, the more you do something, the better you get at it. Before I became a house call vet, I commonly saw 3-4 pets an hour while in general practice. Although I gained a ton of knowledge with this high volume, I found that the short appointment times limited my interaction with the pet and family.
